Lake Quinault senior Cody Perry was named the 1B Coastal 6-man League Most Valuable Player as one of the leaders of an Elks team that had a banner year in 2022.
Perry was voted MVP after leading the Elks to its first league title since the program’s return to the field in 2019, an undefeated league record and a victory over Taholah in the first River Bowl in 12 years.
Perry was joined on the all-league team by teammates Wyatt Holland, Jesse Ferry and Louis Ferris.
Holland, a senior lineman, was named to the all-league squad both on offense and defense.
Ferris was honored with an all-league nod as an offensive lineman while Perry was named as a defensive end.
Lake Quinault head coach Melvyn Houtz was named Coach of the Year.
Wishkah Valley’s Enrique Guzman was named the league’s Offensive MVP. The Loggers tight end/running back had two touchdowns and 168 receiving yards in a loss to league-champion Lake Quinault on Oct. 7.
Guzman also had six catches for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 27-24 win over Washington School for the Deaf on Sept. 16.
Wishkah’s Matthew Erickson was named to the all-league team as a linebacker.
A trio of Mary M. Knight Owls made the all-league squad, with Logan Walters (defensive tackle), Raymond Oppelt (linebacker), and Robbie Strain (utility) all being honored by the league’s coaches.
