Hoquiam 9, Elma 2
Hoquiam completed an undefeated league season with a 9-2 win over Elma on Tuesday in Elma.
The Grizzlies (14-3 overall, 8-0 1A Evergreen) trailed 2-0 after Elma (9-8, 4-4) scored a run in the bottom of the first and third innings on two Grizzlies errors.
Hoquiam got on the board when second baseman Ella Folkers singled with one out to drive in Graci Bonney-Spradlin in the top of the third.
The Grizzlies tied the game when catcher Faith Prosch singled to lead off the fourth and came in to score on a single by outfielder Ashlinn Cady.
Later in the inning, DeVona Sansaver drove in Cady with a fielder’s choice groundout for a 3-2 lead.
Hoquiam added two runs in the sixth on single by Cady and pitcher Carron Blood before blowing the game open with a four-run seventh that included a Folkers RBI double followed by a Blood two-run home run.
In the circle, Blood was on her game, holding the Eagles scoreless over the final five innings. The senior league-MVP candidate allowed seven hits without a walk and struck out eight in the complete-game victory.
The league-champion Grizzlies will enter the district tournament as the 1A Evergreen No. 1 seed and are currently No. 4 in the WIAA RPI rankings.
Elma will enter the district tournament as the league’s No. 3 seed.
The 1A District 4 Softball Tournament is set to take place starting Wednesday, May 17 at Fort Borst Park in Centralia.

Montesano 8, Pe Ell-Willapa Valley 5
Montesano won for the sixth-straight game with an 8-5 win over Pe Ell-Willapa Valley on Wednesday in Montesano.
The Bulldogs (15-4) fell behind by three runs after PWV (13-5) scored three runs in the top of the first, highlighted by a leadoff triple from Lauren Matlock followed later by Grace Huber’s two-run single.
Monte responded with a run in the first on a Jordan Karr double, but PWV took a 4-1 lead with a run on a Payton Peterson fielder’s choice ground out in the top of the second.
Monte took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth on four straight hits to start the frame. Alexa Stanfield led off with a double followed by singles by Liv Robinson and Karr, the latter scoring Stanfield. An error on Karr’s hit allowed Robinson to score for a 6-4 lead. Alisyn Parkin followed with a double to drive in Karr with Monte’s seventh run of the game.
Each team would add a run later in the game, with PWV’s Huber and Monte’s Addi Kersker driving in runs for their respective teams.
Riley Timmons earned the win, allowing four earned runs on six hits and eight walks with 11 strikeouts.
Lauren Emery took the loss, allowing five earned runs on nine hits with a walk and six strikeouts in six innings pitched.
Monte hosts Adna at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
PWV hosts Elma at 4 p.m. on Thursday in Pe Ell.

Forks 8, Raymond-South Bend 4
Raymond-South Bend dropped the first game of a doubleheader to Forks on Wednesday in South Bend.
The Ravens (10-8, 7-5 2B Pacific) led 3-0 after one inning before a six-run second inning put Forks (13-3, 10-2) ahead for good.
Raymond-South Bend had 13 hits in the game, led by Ava Pine and Kassie Koski with three hits each.

Forks 6, Raymond-South Bend 5
The Ravens dropped to fourth place in the 2B Pacific League with a 6-5 loss to Forks in the second game of a doubleheader.
RSB led 5-1 after scoring four runs in the top of the fourth inning, including a solo home run from Raydynn Morley and back-to-back RBI doubles by Berklee Morley and Emma Glazier.
But the Spartans scored four in the sixth to tie the game and with none on and two outs in the seventh, rallied to score the game-winning run on a single.
Berklee Morley had three hits and scored two runs while Glazier had two doubles to lead the Ravens offense.
“We really are doing our jobs and we’re making big strides in the right direction, we just have to keep working,” Ravens head coach Dakota Brooks said. “We’re almost there. We have our entire team with us and they were amazing.”
The Ravens play at Onalaska at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
