Centralia 7, Grays Harbor 6
Grays Harbor College’s late-inning rally fell short in a 7-6 loss to Centralia on Friday in Centralia.
The Chokers (11-10 overall, 4-7 NWAC West) trailed 7-3 entering the top of the seventh inning and rallied for three runs on a bases-loaded walk to infielder Mariah Villalba, a sacrifice fly from pitcher Alexis Cudaback, and an RBI single to right from former Hoquiam standout Carron Blood.
With the tying and go-ahead runs on base, Blazers pitcher Ava Hernandez got center fielder Ciara Mennitto to fly out to former Hoquiam product Gracey Bonney-Spradlin at shortstop to end the game.
Blood and catcher Madison Erickson led GHC with two hits apiece.
Kassidy Byrd took the loss for the Chokers, allowing seven earned runs on 11 hits and five walks with three strikeouts in 5 2-3 innings pitched.
Cudaback threw one strikeout in relief for GHC.
The Chokers play at the NWAC Crossover Tournament at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 in Bellevue.

One big inning led to a Grays Harbor loss in a 4-1 defeat to Centralia on Saturday in Centralia.
The Chokers (11-11, 4-8 NWAC West) led 1-0 after catcher McKenzie Breakfield led off with a walk and was later pushed across the plate when second baseman Desiree Becherer walked with the bases loaded.
The Blazers (9-12, 5-9) responded with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to take the lead, highlighted by RBI singles from former Pe Ell-Willapa Valley standout Grace Huber and designated player Natalie Loose.
GHC starting pitcher Alexis Cudaback took the loss, allowing four runs – three earned – on eight hits and two walks with a strikeout in 3 2-3 innings pitched.
Former Hoquiam ace Carron Blood allowed a hit and two walks with three strikeouts in 2 1-3 scoreless innings pitched.

Aberdeen 18, Hoquiam 1
The 2025 softball version of the Myrtle Street Rivalry was a one-sided affair as Aberdeen cruised to an 18-1 victory over Hoquiam on Friday in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats (4-0) scored early and often against a young Grizzlies squad, leading 8-0 after two innings and putting the game in 10-run rule territory with a seven-run third that included seven singles.
That was more than enough run support for Aberdeen starter Lilly Camp, who struck out eight in three scoreless, hitless innings to earn the victory.
Aberdeen’s Maysinn Jones pitched two innings of relief, allowing one earned run on three hits and a walk with two strikeouts.
Hoquiam (0-7) scored its lone run in the game in the top of the fifth when pitcher Hailee Burgess led off with a single and came in to score on a fielder’s choice ground out by third baseman Aaliyah Kennedy.
Aberdeen catcher Alyssa Yakovich and Jones led the Bobcats with three hits apiece, with Yakovich belting a triple, a double and driving in a game-high four runs for the Cats.
Aberdeen faces Tumwater in a key 2A Evergreen Conference game scheduled for 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Hoquiam faces Lakeside (Nine Mile) at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 in Montesano.

Raymond-South Bend 6, Napavine 3
Raymond-South Bend rode some early offense to a 6-3 win over Napavine on Friday in Napavine.
The Ravens (7-1) took the early lead with three runs in the first thanks to a two-run home run from standout catcher Ava Pine and an RBI triple from third baseman Kassie Koski.
RSB would take a 5-1 lead with two runs in the top of the third, capped by an RBI groundout from Josie Houk.
A double from freshman infielder Elizabeth Lewis drove in senior Tressa McMullen for a 6-2 Ravens lead in the sixth inning.
Ravens pitcher Summer Stigall allowed a run in the seventh to earn the victory, allowing three earned runs on seven hits and three walks with four strikeouts in tossing a complete game.
Pine and Lewis had two hits apiece to lead the Ravens offense.
The Ravens host Morton-White Pass in a doubleheader scheduled for 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
