GIRLS PREP SOCCER
Ocosta 4, Life Christian 1
Katelynn Denny wasted no time making her presence felt, scoring all three goals of her hat trick in the opening 12 minutes as Ocosta cruised to a 4-1 victory over Life Christian Academy Saturday night in Ocosta.
The Wildcats (3-3-1) got the first two goals of the match when Denny turned steals into unassisted goals in an impressive individual effort.
Taeler Jardine chipped in with an assist on Denny’s third goal.
Ocosta outshot the Eagles 26-9 and Wildcats goal keeper Devyn Martin added seven saves.
Ocosta head coach Mike King said his team did well to hold on to the lead as subs were unavailable.
“We came ready to play, but got worn out,” he said. “The girls continued to play hard throughout the contest. We finished with no subs, but they fought hard and finished well.”
