Pe Ell-Willapa Valley standout pitcher/first baseman Olivia Matlock has been one of the 2B Pacific League’s premiere players since debuting for the Titans in 2019.
On Monday, Matlock added another honor to a long list of achievements and accolades.
After leading the Titans to the league title and berth in this week’s 2B State Tournament, Matlock was named the 2B Pacific League MVP for the second consecutive season.
Matlock, who will pitch for Saint Martin’s University at the collegiate level in the fall, was 10-3 with a 2.56 ERA in 15 starts this season.
The senior right-hander allowed just 30 hits and 26 walks with 106 strikeouts in 65 2/3 innings pitched during the regular season.
Matlock was just as impressive at the dish, leading PWV with a .729 batting average, eight home runs, 43 hits and 42 RBI.
PWV head coach Ken Olson was named the league’s Coach of the Year in his final season before retirement.
