Montesano’s Dalan double-doubles her way to 1A Evergreen League MVP honor

Monte’s Tieander Olson, Lex Stanfield and Elma’s Eliza Sibbett named all-league First Team

After sweeping through the 1A Evergreen League for the third consecutive season, the Montesano Bulldogs were awarded as the 1A Evergreen All-League Girls Basketball Team was announced.

Earning the most coveted honor was sophomore forward Jillie Dalan, who was named the league’s Most Valuable Player after her older sister, McKynnlie Dalan, earned the honor as a senior last year.

Jillie Dalan led Monte to an unbeaten league record and title by dominating the painted area this season. The hard-working forward known for pounding the glass and piling up points in the paint averaged a double-double this season with 15.8 points and 11.7 rebounds per game.

In league, Dalan’s number were equally outstanding, tallying 15.4 points, 12.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 2.4 deflections and 2.4 steals per game.

Joining Dalan as First Team all-leaguers were teammates Tieander Olson and Lex Stanfield.
