After leading her team to another sparkling regular season and league title, Montesano senior McKynnlie Dalan was voted the 1A Evergreen League’s Most Valuable Player for the 2022-23 season.
Dalan averaged a shade under 20 points per game this season, including averaging 24 points a game during a four-game stretch this season.
The University of Minnesota signee was also a force in Montesano’s smothering defense, averaging 9.8 rebounds, 4.1 steals and three deflections per game this season.
Dalan was joined on the First Team by teammate and younger sister Evanjillie “Jillie” Dalan and fellow senior Jaiden King.
Only a freshman, Jillie Dalan was named to the league’s top squad after posting some solid numbers this season. The first-year forward averaged 11.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and two deflections for the 18-3 Bulldogs.
King – Monte’s starting point guard – averaged eight points, three assists, three steals and 2.8 deflections this season while emerging as a viable offensive threat for Montesano.
Hoquiam also garnered some league honors as senior center Chloe Kennedy was named to the First Team and head coach Chad Allan was named Coach of the Year after guiding the Grizzlies to a second-place finish.
Harbor athletes named to the Second Team were Hoquiam guard Ella Folkers and forward Ashlinn Cady, Montesano guard Vanna Prom and Elma forward Eliza Sibbett.
