The Aberdeen High School cross-country team hosted its Youth Fun Run on Sunday at Miller Junior High School in Aberdeen.
Over a dozen local grade-schoolers participated in their respective races, which consisted of a 1-mile loop course that started and ended on the Miller track.
In the boys race, fifth-grader Brody Hatton of Central Park Elementary and third-grader Robbie Cech of Stevens Elementary tied for first place with identical times of 6:49.46.
Alex Steele, a fourth-grader from St. Mary School, placed third with a time of 8:38.44.
The girls race was won by Eastyn Vines, a second-grader from Robert Gray Elementary who crossed the finish line with a time of 8:02.98.
Fourth-grader Gemma Courts from Robert Gray placed second (8:39.22) with McDermonth second-grader Brynlee Burgher placing third (9:02.22).
Proceeds raised from the event will go to the benefit of the Aberdeen cross-country team and Aberdeen High School ASB.
