League play opened up for multiple Twin Harbors teams as we take a look at all the prep baseball action from Tuesday.
Elma 6, Hoquiam 2
Elma opened league play by taking the first game of a double header 6-2 over Hoquiam on Tuesday in Elma.
Tied at 1-1 entering the bottom of the fourth inning, the Eagles (5-2 overall, 2-0 1A Evergreen) scored four runs capped by a two-run single by infielder Blake Corr to take a 5-1 lead.
Eastin Wright added an RBI single in the fifth to round out the scoring at 6-2.
Hoquiam (1-4, 0-2) scored a run in the fourth on a Ethan McLucas fielder’s choice ground out and one in the fifth on a Jake Templer RBI single.
Andrew Sanders allowed two earned runs on eight hits and a pair of walks with seven strikeouts to pick up the win.

Elma completed the twin-bill sweep with a 4-0 victory in the nightcap.
The Eagles scored a pair of runs in the first on a Corr sacrifice fly followed by a Grant Vessey double to score Gibson Cain, who reached base earlier in the frame with a triple.
Elma doubled its lead in the third when Ethan Camus drove in Wright and Cain with a two-run double.
Eagles starter Cameron Green picked up the win, allowing one hit, two walks with five strikeouts in five shutout innings.
Elma hosts Eatonville at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
Hoquiam plays at Ocosta at 4 p.m. on Thursday.

Montesano opened league play with a 12-1 rout of Eatonville on Tuesday in Eatonville.
The Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0 1A Evergreen) erupted for five runs in the second inning highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of infielder Bode Poler and never looked back, scoring seven runs over the next three innings to earn the mercy-rule victory over the Cruisers (1-5, 0-3).
Montesano had four extra-base hits in the game, led by Poler with a pair of doubles. John Kling also had a double while Josh Wills had a triple in the game.
Jackson Busz picked up the win, allowing a lone solo home run in the bottom of the first before retiring the next 14 Cruisers while striking out seven in the game.

Montesano completed the double header sweep with an 11-0 victory in the nightcap.
The Bulldogs scored a pair of runs in the first and four in the third, capped by a three-run home run to left field off the bat of Cam Taylor.
Denali Harris and Daylon Schroeder added run-scoring hits in the Bulldogs’ three-run third, with Harris hitting an RBI single and Schroeder smacking a two-run double.
Josh Wills and Kaleb Ames drove in Monte’s 10th and 11th runs, respectively, with RBI singles in the top of the sixth.
Taylor pitched four innings of shutout baseball, allowing two hits while striking out 10 to pick up the win.
Montesano plays at Tenino at 3 p.m. on Friday.

Aberdeen’s offense struggled in a 6-0 loss to Shelton in a 2A Evergreen League game Tuesday in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats (3-2, 1-2 2A Evergreen) and Highclimbers (2-4, 1-2) were locked in a pitcher’s duel as Aberdeen starter Hunter Eisele and Shelton pitcher Spencer Coots put zeroes on the scoreboard through the first five innings of the game.
In the top of the sixth, an error followed later by back-to-back singles gave Shelton a 2-0 lead.
The Highclimbers broke the game open with four runs in the top of the seventh, bolstered by a hit batter, a walk and an error to lead off the inning.
Aberdeen’s Charlie Ancich spoiled Coots’ no-hit bid when he lined a 1-2 pitch up the middle for a base hit with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
Eisele took the loss, allowing six runs – three earned – on four hits and a walk while striking out eight.
Aberdeen plays at Shelton at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Ocosta lost a 2B Pacific League matchup 10-6 to Ilwaco on Tuesday in Westport.
The Wildcats (3-2, 1-1 2B Pacific) were down 2-0 in the top of the fifth when Ilwaco’s offense heated up, scoring three runs in the frame.
The Fishermen (5-1) exploded for five runs in the sixth to blow the game open.
The Wildcats rallied for a run in the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Gabe Matthews to score Frederick Bishop.
Ocosta made things interesting with five runs in the seventh, highlighted by a two-run double off the bat of Mark Sevilla to make it a 10-6 game.
But Ocosta’s Xander Prigmore struck out to end the Wildcats’ improbable comeback bid.
The Wildcats were led by Bishop and Andrew Martin with two hits apiece.
Matthews took the loss, allowing six runs – five earned – on five hits, four walks and six strikeouts in 5 1-3 innings pitched.

Ocosta lost the non-league nightcap to Ilwaco 19-4.
The Wildcats scored all its runs in the top of the first, highlighted by a two-run double by Matthews followed by an RBI single from Mark Sevilla.
But Ilwaco potent offense hammered Ocosta pitching for 14 hits and scored 10 runs in the third to put the game in mercy-rule territory.
The game was recorded as a non-league contest as league officials decided prior to the season to continue a COVID-era policy of just the first game of a double header between two league teams counting as an official league game.
Ocosta will face Hoquiam’s junior varsity team at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Westport.

Pe Ell-Willapa Valley got big games from Garrett Keeton and Wil Clements in earning an 18-2 league victory over Raymond-South Bend on Tuesday in South Bend.
Clements went a perfect 4-for-4 – including a three-run home run to make it a 10-0 game in the top of the fifth – and drove in five runs for PWV (5-2).
Keeton allowed two runs – one earned – on three hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks in six innings pitched.
Leading 1-0, PWV scored 17 runs in the fifth and sixth innings combined.

PWV swept the double header with a 12-1 win in the finale.
Kail Homan drove in four runs and was one of three Titans to record a multi-hit game in the five-inning victory.
Riley Pearson earned the win, allowing an earned run on two hits, three walks and eight strikeouts in five innings pitched.
PWV hosts Northwest Christian at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday in Pe Ell.
