Montesano and Elma won on Friday as we review recent prep baseball games on the Harbor.

Elma 8, Columbia-White Salmon 6
Elma held off a late rally to beat Columbia-White Salmon 8-6 in the first game of a doubleheader on Friday at Columbia High School.
The Eagles (2-2-1) scored a pair of runs in the top of the first inning on RBI ground outs by pitcher T.J. Dunlap and catcher Ethan Camus to take a 2-0 lead.
Tied at 2-all in the top of the fourth, third baseman Bryston Crawford and outfielder Isaac McGaffey led off with back-to-back singles followed by shortstop Jack Alexander being hit by a pitch to load the bases.
A wild pitch allowed Crawford to score followed by a error that allowed McGaffey to cross the plate.
Elma continued to take advantage of Bruins mistakes when Alexander scored on a passed ball to to take a 5-2 lead.
Two batters later, Dunlap scored on another RBI ground out from Camus to push Elma’s lead to 6-2.
In the sixth, Dunlap – on board with a leadoff single – scored on a wild pitch followed later in the inning by a Colt Landstrom RBI single to plate Jordan Lisle with the Eagles’ eighth run of the game.
Dunlap took a six-run lead into the bottom of the seventh but ran into trouble after allowing a two-run single to Kellen Olson with one out in the frame.
A Bruins run on an error followed by two consecutive RBI singles made it an 8-6 game with bases loaded.
But Elma reliever Blake Benzschawel got Jaden Wang to ground out to Alexander, who threw home to Camas for the second out of the inning, then struck out Dylan Landgren to earn the save.
Crawford had three hits with Camus recording a mult-hit game and driving in a pair of runs to lead the Eagles offense.

Elma 11, Columbia-White Salmon 4
Elma scored 11 runs over the final four innings of the game to erase an early deficit and earn an 11-4 win over Columbia-White Salmon on Friday in the nightcap.
The Eagles (3-2-1) trailed 4-0 after staring pitcher Bryston Crawford ran into trouble in the bottom of the second inning, allowing the first five Bruins to reach base in the four-run frame.
Elma scored a pair of runs in the top of the fourth on a wild pitch and an error and took the lead in the fifth with three runs, highlighted by an RBI triple by first baseman Brody Palmer and a run-scoring single off the bat of Ethan Camus, the latter giving Elma a 5-4 lead.
Shortstop Jack Alexander drove in two runs with a single in the sixth and the Eagles would extend their lead with four runs in the seventh, capped by an RBI single from outfielder Isaac McGaffey for an 11-4 lead.
That was enough runs for Camus to work with as the Elma reliever entered the game in the fourth inning and shut down the Bruins offense in tossing four hitless, scoreless innings with five strikeouts and no walks to earn the win.
Palmer had two hits and scored two runs to lead Elma.
The Eagles face Montesano in a crucial 1A Evergreen League matchup at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in Montesano.

Montesano 7, North Thurston 2
Montesano did most of its damage early en route to a 7-2 win over North Thurston on Friday at Vessey Field in Montesano.
The Bulldogs (6-1 1A Evergreen) scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning on a Zach Timmons two-run single, a run on a single from outfielder Caden Grubb, and a Mason Fry bases-loaded walk to take a 4-1 lead after one frame.
Monte extended its lead to 6-1 in the second on RBI singles from catcher Colton Grubb and Timmons.
A balk call pushed across Timmons in the bottom of the fourth for a 7-1 lead.
That was more than enough run support for Montesano starter Kolson Hendrickson and the rest of the Montesano pitching staff, which combined to allow one earned run on four hits in the game.
Hendrickson earned the win, allowing one earned run on one hit and five walks with nine strikeouts in four innings pitched.
Brody Williamson allowed an unearned run on two hits and a walk in two innings of relief and Bulldogs ace Caden Grubb closed out the victory with a scoreless seventh, giving up a lone single in the frame.
Timmons and Colton Grubb led the way for the Monte offense with two hits apiece.
The Bulldogs host Elma in a key 1A Evergreen League game at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Rochester 12, Hoquiam 1
Hoquiam dropped the first game of a 1A Evergreen League doubleheader 12-1 to Rochester on Friday at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam.
The Grizzlies (2-4, 0-3 1A Evergreen) managed just one hit off Rochester pitcher Ethan Rodriguez, who struck out nine and walked five in five innings to earn the win.
The lone hit for the Grizzlies came when shortstop Joey Bozich singled with two outs in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Bozich later came in to score when first baseman Ryan Pullar walked with the bases loaded to make it a 7-1 score.
Three Hoquiam pitchers combined to allow 12 earned runs on just six hits, but walked 11 Warriors in the loss.

Rochester 10, Hoquiam 0
Hoquiam was swept by Rochester as the Grizzlies lost 10-0 in the nightcap on Friday in Hoquiam.
The Grizzlies (2-5, 0-4 1A Evergreen) suffered a 10-run, mercy-rule loss for the second game against the Warriors (4-4, 3-3) as Rochester pounded 12 hits and benefited from five Hoquiam errors in the game.
The Grizzlies were led by sophomore center fielder Danton Cole, who had two of Hoquiam’s three hits in the game.
Third baseman Talan Abbott also had a single for the Grizzlies.
Junior pitcher Joey Bozich took the loss, allowing nine runs – seven earned – on 10 hits and four walks with a strikeout in four innings pitched.
Abbott allowed an earned run on two hits and a walk with a strikeout in an inning of relief.
Hoquiam hosts Forks at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 17.
