BOYS PREP BASKETBALL
Elma 62, Rochester 29

Elma led by eight after the first eight minutes of play and extended the lead to 29-12 by halftime.

Trailing at halftime, North Beach rallied for a 65-44 win over Chief Leschi in a 2B Pacific League opener on Friday in Puyallup.
Down 33-24 at the half, the Hyaks (3-6, 1-0 2B Pacific) played with a greater sense of urgency in the third quarter, outscoring the Warriors (0-10, 0-1) 17-3 to take a 41-36 lead heading into the final frame.

Raymond-South Bend 52, Mossyrock 41
Raymond-South Bend separated itself from Mossyrock in the second half to earn a 52-41 victory on Friday at South Bend High School.
The Ravens (8-3) and Vikings (5-5) were tied 23-23 at halftime of the non-league matchup before seizing the lead with a 14-5 third quarter, thanks in large part to junior post Ava Baugher, who scored 13 of her 15 points in the frame.
In the fourth quarter, RSB converted 8-of-14 free throws (57.1%) to overcome Mossyrock’s hot-shooting Macy Rashoff (11 second-half points) and secure the victory.
“In the first half, we played solid defense but just had a hard time guarding the ball causing us to have to help too much. Luckily for us, they weren’t hitting open shots and we rebounded the heck outta the ball,” Ravens head coach Jason Koski said. “Down the stretch, we made just enough free throws and got just enough stops to pull ahead.”
Ravens junior standout forward Kassie Koski had 10 of her team-high 16 points in the first half and grabbed 16 rebounds to finish with a double-double.
Baugher had 15 points, six rebounds and three assists for RSB.
