W.F. West 243, Aberdeen 253
Playing on the Ocean Shores Golf Course for the first time, Aberdeen dropped a 2A Evergreen League match to W.F. West 243-253 on Wednesday.
“We saw this as an opportunity for our players to experience another top-notch course. Also, Chehalis had an early release so they could travel a little farther,” said Aberdeen head coach Dan Sundstrom, who noted the scores were a bit higher than usual due to his players’ unfamiliarity with the course. “The results of the match were not what we wanted, but the experience was well worth it.”
Bobcats Baylor Ainsworth (45), Hunter Eisele (47) and Charlie Ancich (49) each posted sub-50 scores for the 9-hole match.
“Playing bogie golf on a new course is great,” Sundstrom said.
W.F. West’s Weston Potter won Medalist honors with a low round of 41.
W.F. West (243) – Weston Potter 41, Carter Hinkley 43, Jake Remund 53, Braden Jones 55, Emmett Goodman 55.
