Raymond-South Bend’s softball team swept Ilwaco while Aberdeen’s girls golf team earned a victory as we review recent Twin Harbors prep sports events.

Raymond-South Bend 7, Ilwaco 4

Raymond-South Bend remained unbeaten in the 2B Pacific League with a 7-4 win over Ilwaco in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday at South Bend High School.

The Ravens (4-1 overall, 3-0 2B Pacific) scored four runs in the first inning – highlighted by center fielder Emma Glazier’s three-run, inside-the-park home run – for a 4-1 lead.

Ilwaco (0-5, 0-3) tied the game with a pair of runs off a bases-loaded walk and hit batter in the top of the fourth, but the Ravens regained the lead when catcher Ava Pine tripled to drive in a run in the bottom of the fifth.

A run off a Maddy San triple followed by a Summer Stigall RBI single put RSB up 7-4 heading to the seventh inning.

Macey Enlow earned the win, allowing four runs – two earned – on four hits and eight walks with four strikeouts in 4 2-3 innings pitched.

Stigall allowed no runs or hits while striking out four over 2 1-3 innings to earn the save.

Stigall and Pine led the way with two hits apiece with Glazier’s home run being her fifth of the season.

Raymond-South Bend 20, Ilwaco 6

Raymond-South Bend completed the twin-bill sweep with a 20-6 victory over Ilwaco in the nightcap.

The Ravens offense tallied 20 hits in the game – 13 for extra bases – including home runs by Ava Pine, Macey Enlow and Maddy San.

Pine smashed a three-run home run and Enlow had a two-run blast in the Ravens’ seven-run second inning.

RSB (5-1, 4-0 2B Pacific) scored nine runs in the third, including a San solo shot and RBI extra-base hits from Pine, center fielder Emma Glazier, Enlow and first baseman Tressa McMullen.

Summer Stigall earned the win, giving up six runs on seven hits and seven walks with six strikeouts in five innings pitched.

All nine Ravens got a hit in the game, led by Pine, who went a perfect 4 for 4 with three doubles, a home run, two runs scored and four RBI.

Enlow had three hits – including a homer and two doubles – scored two runs and also drove in four for the Ravens.

Third baseman Kassie Koski also had a big day at the dish with three hits – including a triple and a double – and scored three runs for RSB.

The Ravens face Napavine in a non-league matchup at 4 p.m. on Friday at Napavine High School.

GIRLS PREP GOLF

Aberdeen 69, Shelton 38

Kennedy Kolodzie earned Medalist honors to lead Aberdeen past Shelton 69-38 on Monday at Highland Golf Course in Cosmopolis.

Using the Stableford Scoring System, which awards points per hole (birdie equals 5 points, par is 4 points, etc.), Kolodzie – a freshman – led all golfers with 21 points, capping her 9-hole round with a par on the No. 9 hole.

Presley Stone (17 points), Harnoor Jandu (13) and Trinity Stone (11) also scored in double digits with Shay Dunlap (7) rounding out the Bobcats’ top-five scorers.

“We were really excited to play well and get our first win of the season,” Aberdeen head coach Macoy Gronseth said. “After not playing very well in our first match of the season at Centralia it was nice to bounce back and get a win.”

Aberdeen faces W.F. West at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Highland Golf Course.
