Montesano 16, Tenino 0
Montesano seized control early en route to a 16-0 thrashing of Tenino in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday at Montesano High School.
The Bulldogs (9-4 overall, 4-0 1A Evergreen) scored 10 runs in the first inning, paced by RBI singles from center fielder Adda Potts, catcher Ali Parkin and pitcher Grace Gooding.
Monte added a run in the bottom of the second on a Potts single and four in the third, capped by a Potts two-run single.
Potts had three hits and four RBI, Parkin went 3 for 3 and third baseman Lex Stanfield had a pair of hits and three runs scored for the Bulldogs.
Gooding earned the win, allowing no runs or hits while striking out 12 in the five-inning, mercy-rule victory.

Montesano stayed hot with a 12-0 mercy-rule win over Tenino in the nightcap on Thursday at Dick Tagman Field.
The Bulldogs scored eight runs in the second inning, highlighted by a Grace Gooding three-run home run to put Monte up 8-0.
League MVP candidate Ali Parkin smacked an RBI double in the third followed by three Monte runs in the fourth, paced by a Liv Robinson run-scoring single to drive in Ember Jones.
Freshman phenom Violet Prince allowed just one hit and struck out 10 in five scoreless innings pitched for the Bulldogs.
Four Bulldogs recorded multi-hit games as Gooding, Adda Potts, first baseman Kylee Wisdom and Lex Stanfield had two hits apiece for Montesano.
Monte takes on Forks at 4 p.m. on Friday in Montesano.

PREP BASEBALL
Hoquiam 6, Forks 5
Houqiam rallied for two runs in the bottom of the eighth to snap a six-game losing streak with a 6-5 victory over Forks on Thursday at Olympic Stadium in Hoquiam.
The Grizzlies (2-6) walked off on the Spartans (5-3) on a bases-loaded walk to Ethan Byron, forcing in Danton Cole with the game-winning run.
“This was a much-needed win,” Hoquiam head coach Steve Jump said. “We showed some grit in late innings and the boys should be proud of their efforts.”
Hoquiam reliever Nico Bretz earned the win in pitching two innings of relief of starter Joey Bozich, who struck out 11 in six innings of work.
The Grizzlies offense was led by Tristan Bland with a hit and three walks and Aden Hartt, who had a hit and drove in two runs.
Hoquiam catcher Nite Turpin had a base hit and an RBI and threw out two runners attempting to steal to help preserve the win.
The Grizzlies host Bremerton at 1 p.m. on Saturday.

Aberdeen lost to Black Hills 115-50 on Wednesday at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
Aberdeen was led by Kennedy Kolodzie, who scored a team-best 13 points, using the Stableford Scoring System.
Black Hills’ Ellie Johnson earned Medalist of the Match honors with 33 points.
“Although our overall score didn’t necessarily show it, I think we there were a lot of good things that came out it,” Aberdeen head coach Macoy Gronseth said. “We got to play against one of the best teams in the state, which is really good for our young team to see. Shay Dunlap and Kara Touch are consistently getting better and making big contributions to the team due to their hard work.”

Aberdeen lost to Tumwater 84-54 on Tuesday at the Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
The Bobcats were led by Harnoor Jandu, who had a team-high 15 points (Stableford Scoring System).
Aberdeen’s Trinity Stone and Presley Stone had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
Tumwater’s Lily Wagner earned Medalist honors with 26 points.
“It was our first time at Tumwater Valley and I thought we played pretty well for our first match back after Spring Break,” Aberdeen head coach Macoy Gronseth said. “Senior Harnoor Jandu, who has been a great leader for this young group, played her best match of the season and led the way in score for us. Both Trinity Stone and Presley Stone also have been playing really well and had big contributions in our match.”

Aberdeen defeated Shelton 5-1 on Thursday in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats swept the singles matches, with Sophie Knutson, Maddi Ritter and Kensie Ervin each winning two sets to none.
Aberdeen’s doubles pairings of Annika Natwick-Kimberly Membrano Pacheco and Natalie Mareth-Hailey Fuquay needed all three sets to win their matches to secure the Bobcats’ victory.
“I am impressed with the competitive play and quick improvement of our doubles teams. Seniors Natwick and Membreno Pacheco showed maturity on court and didn’t get down when they lost the second set. Mareth played great at the net and sophomore Fuquay had an especially impressive afternoon serving,” Cats head coach Ashley Kohlmeier said. “We are getting better every day and things are starting to click on court with technique and chemistry.”
