Girls prep golfers from the Twin Harbors took home top honors at the Sibley Scramble Tournament at Alderbrook Golf Course in Union on Monday.
The Montesano pairing of Hailey Blancas and Maggie Kupka and the Aberdeen duo of Britt Rajcich and Kaitlyn McCracken finished their rounds with identical scores of 77 to share first place as the top pairings of the match.
The Bulldogs and Bobcats teams also fared well, with Montesano scoring 164 points to take first place, just one stroke ahead of second-place Aberdeen.
Montesano’s Iza Cope and Audree Dohrmann won the event’s closest-to-pin competitions.
The event featured golfers and teams from across the district, including WF West, Tumwater and Shelton.

Elma sweeps Tenino
The Elma Eagles won for the third straight game in sweeping a doubleheader over Tenino on Tuesday in Tenino.
In the opener, Elma (3-7 overall, 3-5 1A Evergreen) scored six runs in the seventh inning to pull away from Tenino (1-13, 0-7) in an 8-1 victory.
Eagles center fielder Janessa Sample went 2-for-4 with two runs scored while starting pitcher Delayne Hanson allowed one run on six hits to notch the complete-game victory.
In the nightcap, Elma scored 14 runs over three innings to earn 15-1 mercy-rule victory.
Aaleigha Weld (3-4, R, 2 RBI), Maddie Monroe 2-4, 4R, 3RBI) and Sample (2-5, 2R, 4RBI) led the way for an Elma offense that scored 14 runs in the fourth through sixth innings.
Monroe picked up the win, allowing one earned run on six hits in six innings pitched.
Elma hosts Tenino on Friday at 4 p.m.

Elma splits with Tenino
Elma lost the first game 5-4 and won the second game 12-1 in a doubleheader against Tenino on Tuesday in Elma.
The Eagles (5-9, 4-7 1A Evergreen) lost Game 1 when the Beavers (11-5, 6-2) scored a run in the top of the eighth on n RBI single by Brody Noonan.
In the nightcap, Elma scored eight runs in the third inning en route to a 12-1 mercy-rule victory that snapped the Beavers’ six-game winning streak.
Leading 2-0, Elma scored eight runs in the third as Tenino pitching recorded four hit batters and a walk in the frame.
Elma scored runs on singles by Blake Corr and Carter Studer and on doubles by Eastin Wright and Gibson Cain.
Studer picked up the win, allowing an unearned run on two hits in 4 1/3 innings pitched.
”Tenino is a good team but we felt like we let that first one slip away,” Elma head coach Travis Vessey said. “We did have some dudes really swing it today, both JT Tiffany and Blake Corr raked in our first game.”
The two teams will meet against at 3 p.m. on Friday in Tenino.

Black Hills scored two runs in the top of the fifth inning to hand Aberdeen a 5-4 loss on Tuesday in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats (4-8, 3-6 2A Evergreen) took a 4-3 lead with four runs in the bottom of the second on RBI singles by Malaki Balesteri, Kale Goings and Hunter Eisele.
But Black Hills (9-8, 4-7) scored on a fielder’s choice followed by a hit batter with the bases loaded to force in the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth.
Aberdeen threatened with two on and one out in the bottom of the fifth, but a Mason Sorensen strikeout followed by a Toby Heggie ground out ended the inning.
Marcus Hale (2-4, 2B) and Eisele (2-3, RBI) collected two hits apiece for Aberdeen.
The Bobcats play at Black Hills at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

Aberdeen 3, Shelton 0
Aberdeen moved to just a half-game behind first-place Tumwater with a 3-0 victory over Shelton on Tuesday at Stewart Field in Aberdeen.
Aberdeen (9-2-1, 8-2 2A Evergreen) jumped out to a 1-0 lead when an Edwin Quintana shot was deflected off senior forward Miguel Martinez and into the Shelton net in the 11th minute.
With 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Hugo Sanchez sent a through ball to senior forward Daniel Guzman, who passed the ball through two defenders to senior striker Kaleb Myers, who beat the keeper for a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, Aberdeen would put the finishing touches on a successful Senior Night when Julian Garcia fed a pass to Myers, who scored his second goal of the game in the 45th minute.
“This wasn’t the greatest performance for the boys, but they kept working and were able to do enough to get the comfortable win,” Aberdeen head coach Larry Fleming said.
Bobcats seniors Daniel Guzman, Mateo Gonzalez, Kaleb Myers, Gustavo Martinez, Logan Sias, Miguel Martinez and Axcel Garcia were honored before the game.
With the win and Tumwater’s 1-0 loss to WF West on Tuesday, Aberdeen sits a half-game behind Tumwater for the top spot in the 2A Evergreen Conference.
The Bobcats play at Black Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
Aberdeen’s junior varsity team won 2-0 Tuesday afternoon.
