One of Aberdeen’s aces came through for a key league victory as we take a look a prep softball action on the Harbor.

Aberdeen 3, W.F. West 0
Aberdeen ace Lilly Camp had one of the finer games of her prep career, pitching a one-hitter in a 3-0 victory over W.F. West on Friday at Recreation Park in Chehalis.
The Bobcats (8-2 overall, 4-1 2A Evergreen) and Bearcats (8-3, 3-1) were locked into a scoreless tie through four innings until Aberdeen shortstop Zoe Vessey blasted a three-run home run with two outs in the top of the fifth inning.
That was all the run support Camp would need as the junior right-hander threw 6 1-3 innings of no-hit softball until a Kenley Fragner singled in the bottom of the seventh.
Camp struck out the final two batters she faced to give Aberdeen the victory and a half-game lead ahead of W.F. West for second place in the 2A Evergreen Conference.
Vessey, Britten Neal, Alyssa Yakovich and Annika Hollingsworth had one hit apiece for the Bobcats.
Aberdeen plays at W.F. West at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

Montesano 9, Royal 4
Montesano opened its three-game weekend set in eastern Washington with a 9-4 win over Royal on Friday at Walla Walla Community College.
In a rematch of last season’s 1A State championship game, the Bulldogs (5-2) scored three runs in the top of the fourth inning on a Tieander Olson sacrifice fly and a two-run error.
Monte took a 5-2 lead on a Riley Timmons RBI triple and Addi Kersker run-scoring double in the fifth.
Leading 5-4 in the top of the sixth, the Bulldogs scored a run on an error and took an 8-4 lead on a Ali Parkin two-run single.
Monte added a run in the seventh when Lex Stanfield scored on a passed ball.
Timmons earned the win, allowing three earned runs on three hits, working around nine walks while striking out nine.

Elma scored a run in every inning en route to a 9-2 win over Lynden Christian on Friday at Walla Walla Community College
The Eagles (7-2) had more walks (9) than hits (8) in the game and scored no more than two runs in any inning.
Elma was led by Aubree Simmons with three doubles and two RBI and Mia Monroe, who had three hits, a double, two stolen bases and the RBI.
Freshman pitcher Raelynn Weld earned the win, allowing two runs in the first inning and holding the Lyncs (6-4) scoreless after that.

Timberline 6, Ocosta 0
Ocosta lost for the first time this season, dropping a 6-0 non-league game to 3A Timberline on Friday in Westport.
The Wildcats (6-1) and Blazers (6-1) were locked in a pitcher’s duel where Ocosta starter Jessie Gilbert and Timberline pitcher Jasmyn Polanco shut down opposing offenses over through three innings of play.
In the top of the fourth, the Blazers scored two runs on a bases-loaded walk and a passed ball for a 2-0 lead.
An inning later, Timberline scored a run on a Wildcats error followed by a two-run, two-out single by Hazel Abbott for a 5-0 lead.
In the top of the seventh, a Kassidy Jack RBI double gave the Blazers an insurance run.
The loss was the first this season for Ocosta and spoiled a three-hit, 19-strikeout performance from Gilbert.
Ocosta plays at Winlock at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hoquiam held on for a 3-2 win over Blaine on Saturday at the Mill Creek Sportsplex in Walla Walla.
The Grizzlies (2-9) scored a run in each of the first two innings and took a 3-2 lead on a Chloey Dietrick RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Dietrick had two of the Grizzlies’ four hits in the game.
Kayte Sauer went the distance for Hoquiam, allowing two runs – one earned – on eight hits with three walks and three strikeouts in seven innings pitched.

Elma dropped a game to Mount Baker 11-8 on Saturday at Mill Creek Sportsplex.
Elma scored six runs over the first three innings, highlighted by a two-run home run off the bat of senior Aaleigha Weld to stake the Eagles to a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the third inning.
But Elma couldn’t slow down the the Mountaineers offense, as Mount Baker scored a run in every inning and belted three home runs in the game.

Montesano won its third game over the weekend with a 9-1 victory over Blaine on Saturday at the Mill Creek Sportsplex in Walla Walla.
Bulldogs starting pitcher Kaitlyn Trail sparkled in the circle, allowing one earned run on five hits without a walk while striking out 10 Borderites in a complete-game performance.
Monte got on the board with a Kylee Widsom two-run single in the first inning and stretched its lead to 6-0 on an RBI single by Lex Stanfield and a run-scoring fielder’s choice ground out by Kennady Campbell in the bottom of the third.
Stanfield led Monte with two hits and three RBI.
The Bulldogs play at Tenino at 4 p.m. on Monday.

Elma scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to break open a tie game en route to a 16-9 win over Colville on Saturday at Mill Creek Sportsplex in Walla Walla.
Elma smashed 12 hits in the game including home runs by Emmie Spencer and Callie Galligan, the latter belting a grand slam to put the Eagles up 16-9 in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Spencer, Ashlynn Weld, Chloe Donais and Aubree Simmons had two hits apiece for Elma.
Elma plays at Rainier at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.
