Montesano continued its undefeated run through league opponents, its latest victim being the Elma Eagles.
Monte was in sync in a straight-set victory over an improved Eagles team on Thursday at Bo Griffith Memorial Gymnasium at Montesano High School.
The Bulldogs (8-6 overall, 7-0 1A Evergreen) won by scores of 25-22, 25-14 and 25-12 over the Eagles (3-12, 1-6).
Montesano was led by junior setter Karissa Otterstetter, who ran an effective offense and did a little bit of everything on the court. Otterstetter finished with 25 assists and filled up the stat sheet with five kills, 12 digs, three aces and a block.
Otterstetter’s favorite target on Thursday was junior outside hitter Kaila Hatton, who had a team high 13 kills.

“The girls played really well tonight. Defensively, we played pretty scrappy tonight so that was nice to see,” Monte head coach Cindy Wecker said. “Our hitters hit the ball hard tonight. With Otterstetter doing an outstanding job setting, Hatton, Wisdom and Dalan are a force at the net.”
Monte has a 1.5 game lead over Hoquiam in the 1A Evergreen League.
