Montesano kept its perfect league record intact with a straight-set victory over Rochester on Thursday at Rochester High School.

The Bulldogs (8-2 overall, 3-0 1A Evergreen) wasted little time in dispatching the winless Warriors (0-9, 0-2) by scores of 25-5, 25-17 and 25-6.

Monte’s defense had a solid outing with three players recording double-digit digs in the game, led by senior Liv Robinson with 20.

Karissa Otterstetter had 10 kills while setter Makena Blancas had 12 assists to lead the Bulldogs.

Twelfth-ranked Montesano will compete at a tournament on Saturday at R.A. Long High School.

Raymond-South Bend 3, North Beach 0

Raymond-South Bend defeated North Beach in straight sets on Thursday at South Bend High School.

The Ravens won 25-19, 25-12 and 26-24 over the Hyaks.

The two teams exchanged points through the early portion of the first set before RSB went on a seven-point streak off the back of Summer Stigall’s serve to take control of the game.

Ava Pine finished off the first game with a seven-point service run to go up 1-0.

The Ravens carried the momentum on to the second game, taking a commanding 15-5 lead on an Ava Baugher six-point service run.

North Beach led 10-3 in Game 3 before RSB began to chip away. The Ravens eventually tied the game at 21-all before taking the third set 26-24.

“It was awesome seeing the team work together to overcome that deficit,” Ravens head coach Julie Jewell said. “They showed a lot of grit and a lot of hustle. Our passing continues to improve, which helps us get our offense going. As long as we keep improving, I’ll be happy.”

The Ravens JV team won 23-25, 25-13 and 18-16 with the RSB C-squad earning a 25-21, 21-25 and 15-13 win.

RSB faces Morton-White Pass on Monday at White Pass High School.

North Beach plays at Taholah at 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Ocosta dominated Lake Quinault in a straight-set victory on Thursday in Westport.

The Wildcats (8-1, 7-0 1B Coastal) remained a half-game ahead of Taholah in the 1B Coastal League standings with a convincing 25-9, 25-8 and 25-8 victory over the Elks (1-7, 1-7).

Ocosta was led by two of their league MVP candidates in outside hitter Jolissa Schlegel (10 kills) and senior Sophie Olive (22-22 service, 13 aces).

“We served the ball well tonight with 95% in. Much better than we have in previous matches,” Ocosta head coach Erin Snider said.

The Wildcats wore their alternate pink jerseys to raise cancer awareness as part of their “Spike Out Cancer” night.

Ocosta hosts Pe Ell at 6 p.m. on Monday.

Hoquiam 3, Tenino 0

Hoquiam earned a hard-fought 3-0 win over Tenino on Thursday in Hoquiam.

The Grizzlies (5-3, 1-1 1A Evergreen) battled the Beavers (3-5, 1-2) through three sets, sweeping Tenino 28-26, 25-17 and 28-26.

“We really fought for points tonight and played some incredible rallies. Tenino is so scrappy and relentless, it was hard to find the floor at times,” Hoquiam head coach Heather Bozich said. “But we found ways to win and I couldn’t be prouder of this team for rebounding after a tough loss.”

Hoquiam was led by libero Lexi LaBounty (15 digs), setter Katlyn Brodhead (33 assists, 6 kills) and freshman outside hitters Aaliyah Kennedy (18 kills) and RenaeJah Burtenshaw (12 kills).

“As freshmen, they are really playing strong and stepping into their roles with confidence,” Bozich said of Kennedy and Burtenshaw. “This was a total team effort and everyone contributed to the win. We’re starting to get back to our brand of volleyball with relentless defense and from that we’re able to create a good offense.”

Hoquiam takes on Aberdeen at 7 p.m. Monday in Aberdeen.

Elma 3, Tyee 2

Elma needed five sets to defeat Tyee 3-2 on Thursday in Elma.

The Eagles (4-4) won 27-25, 21-25, 25-9, 23-25 and 15-9.

Elma was led by senior libero Allyson Warren (29 digs), setter Haylee Maners (22 digs, 25 assists) and outside hitter Haydenne Bogar (28 kills).

Elma resumes league play when the Eagles face Hoquiam at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Hoquiam Square Garden.

Willapa Valley 3, Wishkah Valley 0

Willapa Valley picked up a 1B Coastal League victory with a straight-set win over Wishkah Valley on Thursday in Menlo.

The Vikings (7-2, 5-2 1B Coastal) dominated the Loggerettes (1-7, 0-7) in the 25-14, 25-7 and 25-8 win.

“Tonight, we wanted to focus on playing our game with our tempo,” Willapa Valley head coach Chelsea Kempton said. “The girls played well together tonight and it was fun to see them hype each other up. Always great when energy and momentum are high. Everyone plays their best when those two things are happening.”

Willapa Valley was led by Jillian Hodel (9 aces), Sam Sheary (14 assists) and Tylar Keeton (7 kills).

The Vikings will face Lake Quinault at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Amanda Park.

Wishkah will look to snap a six-game losing streak when it takes on Naselle at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Wishkah Valley High School.
