Gulls sweep
PUYALLUP — Allowing only three hits in two games, Raymond took both ends of a baseball doubleheader against Chief Leschi on Tuesday, beating the Warriors 20-3 in the early game and 11-0 in the late game.
Raymond only needed nine hits in the first game to secure the victory but got a lot of help from Chief Leschi pitching staff that issued 14 walks. The Warriors also committed 11 errors.
The Gulls (2-4, 3-5) scored 14 runs in the first inning. Mason Crawford was the winning pitcher.
Cole Enslow pitched a complete-game one-hit shutout and helped his own cause with an RBI triple.
Raymond coach Luke Abbott would have liked his team to come away with a few more hits in the late game but was glad the Gulls stayed patient at the plate.
“When we got hits, we took advantage. The walks hurt Chief Leschi and we were happy to get out of there with a win,” he said.
