Aberdeen dropped the season series to Tumwater with a 7-1 loss on Monday in Aberdeen.
The Bobcats (8-7 overall, 5-3 2A Evergreen) fell behind early, allowing a run in the top of the first and three in the second, highlighted by a run-scoring double off the bat of Megan Paull followed by an RBI single by first baseman Kylie Waltermeyer.
Tumwater (10-6, 7-2) took a 6-0 lead in the fourth on two errors after a wild pitch, allowing Ella Ferguson to score from third and Waltermeyer to come all the way around from first.
Ferguson drove in a run with a single in the top of the seventh for a 7-0 lead.
Aberdeen broke the shutout with a run in the seventh when second baseman Aili Scott – on board after a Tumwater error – scored on a single to center field off the bat of Laynie Yakovich.
But Ferguson got the next three Bobcats batters out, the final two via strikeouts, to hand Aberdeen its second loss to Tumwater in four days.
Lily Camp took the loss for Aberdeen, allowing six runs – five earned – on five hits with six walks and six strikeouts.
Abby Mainio allowed one unearned run on three hits, three walks and a strikeout in three innings of relief.
Laynie Yakovich went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases while Zoe Vessey had two hits and a double to lead Aberdeen.
The Bobcats sit in third place in the 2A Evergreen League standings, one game ahead of Centralia and Rochester.
Aberdeen plays at Black Hills at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The memorable season of Ocosta pitcher Jessie Gilbert continued after the sophomore right-hander broke another school record in an 8-0 victory over Naselle on Monday in Westport.
With a strikeout over Naselle’s Evelyn Normand to lead off the top of the third inning, Gilbert recorded her 183rd strikeout this season, breaking the Ocosta school record set by Shelby Pase in 2008.
Gilbert wasn’t done, striking out 19 Comets and taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning, losing the no-no when Haley Eastham singled on a blooper to center field to lead off the frame.
Ocosta (13-4, 6-4 2B Pacific) broke a scoreless tie with six runs in the bottom of the third, with Gilbert knocking in two runs with a single, Brynn Rasmus driving in Gilbert with a base hit, Noel Cuzdey scoring on an error, and Sophie Olive belting a two-run double to left.
Gilbert blasted a solo home run to right in the fourth and later scored on a wild pitch in the sixth to complete an unforgettable night for the Wildcats’ all-state candidate.
At the plate, Gilbert went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, three runs scored and two RBI.
Ocosta sits in fourth place in the league standings, one game behind Forks.
The Wildcats face Chief Leschi in a doubleheader at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday in Puyallup.

Elma snapped a five-game losing streak with a 5-1 win over Adna on Monday in Elma.
The Eagles (9-7, 4-5 1A Evergreen) took a 2-1 lead when Jack Alexander drove in Ethan Camus and Carter Studer with a double in the bottom of the first inning.
Elma extended its lead with three runs in the fifth, one run on an Eastin Wright fielder’s choice ground out followed by an Alexander two-run single to score Camus and Gibson Cain.
Alexander was a perfect 3-for-3 with a double and four RBI to lead the Eagles offense.
Studer picked up the win, allowing one unearned run on three hits, a walk with three strikeouts in six innings pitched.
Andrew Sanders pitched a scoreless, hitless seventh, striking out one batter in the process.
Elma resumes league play with a doubleheader at Eatonville beginning at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

Five Aberdeen errors led to a 5-2 loss to Rochester on Monday in Rochester.
The Bobcats (8-9, 4-7 2A Evergreen) missed a chance to take sole possession of fourth place in the 2A Evergreen League by committing five errors in the game, leading to four unearned Rochester runs.
Aberdeen took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning when Trevon Nichols drove in Aidan Baker with a single followed later by Bubba Jones scoring on a wild pitch.
But an Aberdeen error with one out in the fourth led to the Warriors first run of the game and two errors in the fifth led to three Rochester runs.
Aberdeen starting pitcher Hunter Eisele took the loss despite another solid performance on the bump. The junior right-hander allowed four runs – none earned – on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts in five innings of work.
Nichols (2-4, RBI) and Baker (2-3, 2B, R) led Aberdeen’s offense with two hits apiece.
With the loss, the Bobcats sit a game behind Rochester for fourth place in the league standings.
