Aberdeen 8, Black Hills 2
A prodigious offensive output combined with a shutdown pitching performance led to Aberdeen defeating Black Hills 8-2 on Tuesday in Tumwater.
The Bobcats (9-7, 6-3 2A Evergreen) pounded 19 hits – seven for extra bases – and had six players record multi-hit games en route to the victory.
Aberdeen scored at least one run in all but the top of the third inning and were paced by Alyssa Yakovich (3-4, 3B, R, RBI), Zoe Vessey (3-4, 2B, 2 RBI) and Abby Mainio (3-4, 2B, 2 R, 2 RBI) with three hits each.

Aberdeen 2, Centralia 0
Aberdeen continued its season-long dominance over opponents with a 2-o victory over Centralia on Tuesday in Centralia.
The Bobcats (15-0, 12-0 1A Evergreen) completed a perfect league season and recorded their 11th shutout of the 2023 campaign with a goal in each half by junior forward Elmer Torres.
In the 22nd minute, a cross from Bobcats junior midfielder Juan Serrano was collected by senior midfielder Gio Castillo, who fed Torres to open the scoring at 1-0.
After the half, Aberdeen began to dominate with accurate, quick passing and a multi-wave offensive attack. The pressure paid off when Torres scored his second of the game off a rebound of a hard shot by senior midfielder Gilberto Lopez, putting the Cats up 2-0 in the 66th minute.
Aberdeen’s ball control and defense limited Centralia opportunities to secure Aberdeen’s perfect league season.
“This group once again showed their consistency on the attack and their strength on defense,” Aberdeen head coach Larry Fleming said. “A strong overall team game to finish out a historic regular season.”
Fleming commended the play of midfielder Carlos Mendoza and defenders Javier Garcia and Hugo Garcia.
Jazier Arenal and senior Antonio Granados split time in the Bobcats net to record the clean sheet.
Second-ranked Aberdeen will host Hudson’s Bay in a first-round 2A District 4 playoff game at 1 p.m. Saturday at Stewart Field in Aberdeen.
Aberdeen’s JV team drew to a scoreless tie on Tuesday, completing its season with a 12-0-3 record.
