Former Bobcat Dublanko named to AAC First Team

Former Aberdeen Bobcat and current Cincinnati Bearcat Joel Dublanko was named a First Team linebacker for the All-American Athletic Conference on Wednesday.

Dublanko, who played at Aberdeen from 2012-15, was one of 12 Bearcats named to the conference’s First Team after recording 99 tackles and 3.5 sacks in 2021, helping lead UC to a 12-0 regular-season record and No. 3 ranking in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll.

Grays Harbor College hosts Native American Classic this weekend

Grays Harbor College will host the Native American Classic men’s basketball invitational this weekend in Aberdeen.

The three-day tournament begins Friday and will feature Wenatchee Valley College, Motion College, Fraser Valley College and the host Chokers.

The invitational will tip-off at 6 p.m. Friday with Motion College taking on Fraser Valley followed by the Chokers facing off against Wenatchee Valley at 8 p.m.
