Taylor shoots hole in one

Danny Taylor shot a hole in one at Highland Golf Course on Sunday in Cosmopolis.

Taylor aced the par-3 third hole using an 8-iron.

The shot was witnessed by Matt Hedgpeth.

Pine wins two medals at US Open

Former Grays Harbor College head wrestling coach Kevin Pine won two medals at the US Open Wrestling Championships April 24-28 in Las Vegas.

Pine, an Elma native, won gold in the men’s 88 kg Masters D division Greco-Roman tournament by winning all three of his matches, including a 14-6 win over silver-medalist Sigurd Slaastad of the Chicago Wrestling Club.

Pine won a silver medal in the Masters D freestyle competition, losing a 10-8 decision to Patrick Flynn of North Carolina.

Twelve countries were represented at the tournament.
