Poggies to meet Wednesday
The Grays Harbor Poggie Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hoquiam Elks Hall.
Annual board meeting set for Sunday
The Elma Little League will hold its annual board meeting for election of officers for the 2017 season on Sunday at the 10th St. Park in Elma.
Anyone who is interested in volunteering for the upcoming season are encouraged to attend.
GH Bearcats fundraiser set
The Grays Harbor Bearcats are beginning to prepare for the 2017 season with a bowling fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 12.
The Bearcats will take over the Bulldog Lanes in Montesano at 2 p.m., and will hold a four-man tournament — $60 per team, with half going to the prize pool and the other half going to the Bearcats. The top-three teams will earn money prizes.
Also at the fundraiser players will be able to signup for the upcoming season, get more information about upcoming tryouts in November, December and January, as well as a tentative practice schedule and information about player fees etc. Coaches will be there to answer any questions as well.

Elma JV beats Hoquiam
Elma picked off a Hoquiam pass on the final play of the game to seal a 19-14 victory in a junior varsity contest at Olympic Stadium on Monday.
The Grizzlies scored on a 70-yard pass from Garrett Dick to Jonah Doll in the first quarter. Nick Grossi caught a pass to add the 2-point conversion for the Grizzlies.
Hoquiam added another score in the third quarter on a 65-yard pass from Dick to Rayyon Dayton, but Elma added two scores to grab the lead for good.
Hoquiam coaches cited the play of Myhles Malone.
Chehalis JV tops Montesano
Chehalis defeated Montesano 43-24 in a junior varsity contest at Bearcat Stadium on Monday.
Larry Dwyer scored twice for the Bulldogs, while Cooper Karafa caught a long pass to add Montesano’s final touchdown. The Bulldogs were successful on the 2-point conversion on all three scores.
