Aberdeen sweeps three-way meet
Aberdeen defeated both Shelton and host Centralia in a three-way track and field meet on Tuesday at Tiger Stadium.
Aberdeen’s boys team defeated Centralia on points 85-36 and Shelton by a score of 71-62.
Aberdeen got first-place finishes from Trey Anderson (400, 55.10), Julian Campos (800, 1:59.43 PR; 3200, 10:30.69), Collin Babineau (300 hurdles, 45.59), JaBron Brooks (shot put, 46-09.5), Tyler Bates (discus, 130-06) and Andrew Troeh (high jump, 6-00; long jump, 20-02 PR; triple jump, 40-03).
Aberdeen’s girls team fell 71-45 to Centralia and 66-49 to Shelton on Tuesday.
The Bobcats were led by Felicia Bell (100, 13.96 PR; 200, 28.98 PR), Annie Troeh (long jump, 13-11), Zoe Troeh (triple jump, 30-11 PR) and the 4×100 relay team of Annie Troeh, Zoe Troeh, Ava Benn and Bell (55.29) — all first-place marks.

Montesano boys/girls win South Bend meet
Montesano’s boys and girls track and field teams swept the team competitions at a league meet at the Don Weisel Oval in South Bend on Thursday.
Montesano’s boys finished with 129 points to place first as a team.
Forks (97), Mossyrock (88), South Bend (85) and Ocosta (61) placed 2-5, respectively.
Montesano’s girls team tallied 245 points to take first ahead of Forks (119.5), South Bend (58), Ocosta (49) and Mossyrock (43.5).
Montesano’s boys team got wins from Jesse Anderson (800, 2:18.19 PR; 3200, 11:52.56), Mason Rasmussen (300 hurdles, 51.72 PR), Will Wahlstrom (shot put, 39-06 PR) and Gabe Bodwell (javelin, 137-06 PR).
The Bulldogs girls team picked up wins from Jaiden Morrison (400, 1:06.88), Aubrey Anderson (800, 2:39.09 PR; 1600, 6:12.39), Samantha Schweppe (3200, 13:58.9 PR), Jaiden King (100 hurdles, 18.58) and Ashlyn Devereaux (javelin, 104-08; triple jump, 30-08.5).
Montesano’s girls relay team of Dekotah Parks, Sierra Birdsall, Lilly Causey and Morrison won both the 4×100 relay (54.52, unofficial) and 4×200 relay (1:57.00).
Other local winners included Ocosta’s William Idso (100, 11.54; 200, 23.01; high jump, 5-10) and Dylan Todd (1600, 5:09.65); South Bend’s Robby Stigall (discus 132-11), Ferrill Johnson (long jump, 18-03 PR) and Liam Parkins (triple jump, 32-11).
In the girl’s competition, Ocosta’s Mataya Straka won both the shot put (32-02) and discus (105-03).

Willapa Valley, North Beach teams win in Ocean Shores
The Willapa Valley girls and North Beach boys track and field teams placed first in the team standings at a league meet on Thursday in Ocean Shores.
Willapa Valley’s girls tallied 108 points with North Beach (87) and Raymond (76) placing second and third, respectively.
The Vikings got wins from Emily Watson (800, 2:47.07), Brooklyn Patrick (300 hurdles, 56.89), Hannah Hamilton (shot put, 31-07.75), Lanissa Amacher (discus, 81-07.50), Lauren McGough (javelin, 108-05; pole vault, 9-06) and the 4×200 relay team of Patrick, Brooklyn Strozyk, Hamilton and Wilson (2:01.00).
Other local winners in the girls competition were North Beach’s Malia Cox (100, 14.00), Isabella Faris (400, 1:09.02), Skyler Langston (1600, 6:11.74; 3200, 13:14.25 and the 4×100 relay team of Kaci Osborne-Hansen, Abigail Conn, Faris and Cox (56.95).
Raymond got wins from Kyra Gardner (100 hurdles, 16.53; high jump, 5-06; long jump, 16-02.50) and Lisa Finne (triple jump, 29-06.50).
North Beach’s boys team got wins from Asher Baggaley (1600, 5:04.43 PR; 3200, 11:12.30 PR), Josh Bighead (triple jump, 39-04) and the boys 4×400 team of Bighead, Baggaley, Wyeland Lomedico and Westin Fruh (3:59.55).
Raymond winners included Morgan Anderson (110 hurdles, 16.41 PR; pole vault, 10-06); Tre’ Seydel (300 hurdles, 43.71; high jump, 5-10 PR; long jump, 18-09 PR) and Austin Snodgrass (discus, 109-03 PR).

Elma boys, Hoquiam girls win at league meet in Hoquiam
The Elma boys and Hoquiam girls track and field teams won their respective team competitions at a 1B/2B/1A League Meet at Hoquiam High School on Wednesday.
Elma’s boys scored 113.5 points to win the competition with Hoquiam’s girls team tallying 166.5 points, beating the second-place Eagles (115) by more than 50 points.

PREP GIRLS TENNIS
Centralia 6, Aberdeen 0
The Aberdeen girls tennis team opened its season with a 6-0 loss to Centralia on Thursday in Centralia.
With 16 new players on its 20-player roster, Aberdeen head coach Ashley Kohlmeier said her team played typical of what one might expect from a young, inexperienced team.
“The Bobcats definitely suffered through first match jitters today,” she said. “The girls are eager to learn and have been great in the weeks leading up to tonight’s first contest. I see a lot of potential in our very green team.”
Aberdeen will face Black Hills on Monday in Tumwater.
