Following the debacle in the desert and the beatdown in Berkeley, Washington and Washington State were knocked from the ranks of the unbeaten teams and tumbled out of the top 10 in the Associated Press poll.
The Huskies (6-1, 3-1 Pac-12) fell seven spots to No. 12 and the AP voters tabbed the Cougars (6-1, 3-1) at No. 15 — seven spots lower than the previous week.
‘Bama on top
Alabama (7-0) remains at the top of the AP poll, Penn State (6-0), which was idle, moved up one spot to No. 2 followed by No. 3 Georgia (7-0), No. 4 TCU (6-0) and No. 5 Wisconsin (6-0).
The rest of the top 10 includes (in order): Ohio State (6-1), Clemson (6-1), another upset victim which had been second last week, Miami (5-0), Oklahoma (5-1) and Oklahoma State (5-1).
No. 11 USC (6-1, 4-1) and No. 22 Stanford (5-2, 4-1) are the only other Pac-12 teams in the AP poll.

Washington’s 13-7 loss at Arizona State and Washington State’s 37-3 defeat at California severely hampers the Huskies’ and Cougars’ chances of advancing to the College Football Playoff, which releases the first of six weekly rankings Tuesday Oct. 31.
And here’s a look at the Pac-12 teams in the Amway Coaches poll: No. 10 USC, No. 12 UW, No. 18 WSU and No. 22 Stanford.
