GIRLS PREP SOCCER

Elma 10, Raymond South Bend 1

Jillian Bieker was unstoppable on Tuesday night, scoring five goals in Elma’s 10-1 win over Raymond-South Bend at South Bend High School.

Bieker scored a hat trick in the first half alone with goals in the fifth, 20th and 32nd minute. She found the back of the net twice more in the second half with tallies in the 43rd and 65th minutes.

Janessa Sample also had a hat trick, scoring all three of her goals in the second half.

Elma head coach Evan Valentine said it was good to see the passing flourish with Bieker playing more of a forward role.

“I was happy with the passing, especially in the second half. We moved the ball well from side to side,” he said. “I was really happy to see Jill get as many scoring opportunities as she did. I moved her a little higher and that worked out.”

RSB (2-8, 1-4 Evergreen 1A) will try to bounce back with a game against Forks tonight at 7.

Elma (4-5-2, 3-2) will also be in action Thursday with a game at Tenino at 7 p.m.

Tenino 3, Montesano 0

Montesano dropped to second place in the 1A Evergreen League after suffering its first league loss at Tenino on Tuesday.

Monte (8-3, 4-1 Evergreen 1A) gave up an early goal in the second minute and surrendered another one in the 22nd minute on the way to a 3-0 shutout loss.

The Bulldogs controlled possession for the majority of the game but fell victim to the Beavers’ counter attack several times in the contest.

Montesano head coach Fidel Sanchez said his team wasn’t playing up to its standard that night.

“We were not us tonight. We did uncharacteristic things,” he said. “Instead of doing what we normally do, which is playing away from pressure and playing into space, we forced things.”

Tenino (10-0-1, 5-0) added an insurance goal in the 71st minute to round out the scoring.

Tenino 2 1 – 3

Montesano 0 0 – 0

Aberdeen 3, Rochester 0

Aberdeen stayed in contention for a 2A Evergreen League playoff spot with a 3-0 victory over Rochester on Tuesday at Stewart Field.

Aberdeen made it 3-0 with a goal by Madison Gore off a corner kick.

The Bobcats outshot Rochester (1-9-1, 0-5) 20-4, but were off target most of the night, according to Aberdeen head coach Larry Fleming.

“Our effort was good, but overall we played a poor team game,” he said. “Our control was off at times and our decision making in the attacking third has got to improve.”

The Aberdeen JV team won 7-0. Emma Sianao and Aman Cheema each scored two goals in the win.

Aberdeen takes on Centralia at 7 p.m. Thursday in Centralia.
