Montesano dominated the paint in the second half to earn a 64-44 victory over previously-undefeated Adna on Tuesday in Montesano.

After halftime, Monte took better care of the ball and began to assert its will in the paint, stretching its lead to 42-33 at the end of the third quarter and dominating the fourth quarter 22-11.
Montesano was led by double-double machine McKynnlie Dalan, who scored a game high 23 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the contest.
Younger sister Evanjillie “Jillie” Dalan scored 12 points to go along with six rebounds and a team best four steals.

Poor foul shooting and too many turnovers led to Willapa Valley’s 65-41 loss to Ilwaco on Tuesday in Ilwaco.
The Vikings (6-2) had its four-game winning streak snapped as Ilwaco (5-1) took a 26-8 lead in the first quarter, highlighted by five 3-pointers as a team.
Willapa Valley trailed 37-20 and the half and 49-33 entering the fourth quarter before rallying to cut the deficit to 50-39 with four minutes to go.

Seniors Grace Huber and Brooklyn Patrick led the Vikings with 14 and nine points, respectively.
“We are disappointed in the loss, but not disappointed in the effort,” Peterson said.
