Bulldogs 63, Warriors 28
ROCHESTER — Montesano jumped out to a 10-point lead after the first quarter and rolled to victory over Rochester in a non-league game on Wednesday.
The Bulldogs (3-0) held the Warriors to just three points in the first quarter to take the lead for good, but Monte kept after Rochester on defense in the second half.
“Our defense carried us through the first half; but when we came out in the second half, we played with more passion and we held them to two points in the third quarter,” Montesano coach Julie Graves said. “Cheyann (Bartlett) did a tremendous job of energizing the offense in the second half.”
Monte was led by a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds from Jordan Spradlin, as well as 10 points and seven rebounds from Shayla Floch. Josie Talley finished with 13 points. Seniors Bartlett, Hannah Quinn and Josie Toyra each swiped three steals.
Montesano travels to Castle Rock on Friday.

SOUTH BEND — A poor fourth quarter doomed South Bend against Naselle in a non-league game at Koplitz Fieldhouse on Wednesday.
Despite leading going into the final quarter, the Indians (1-2) committed too many turnovers and sputtered on offense, scoring just two points in the final eight minutes.
“It was a tight game all the way through,” South Bend coach Gary Wilson said. “In the fourth quarter, we had a six-point lead going in and we made poor decisions and that turned the tempo. We just couldn’t get anything going on offense. We didn’t take care of our lead. We made too many poor decisions with the ball.”
Tayler Ford led the Comets with 18 points.
Ashley Pearson was the high scorer for the Tribe with 10 points, while Karley Reidinger finished with nine points, 13 rebounds and five steals and Jessica Sanchez added nine rebounds and four steals to go with six points.
South Bend travels to Ocosta on Friday.
