The Chitwhins (15-4) face Naselle in a semifinal scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Ilwaco.
Taholah used a press to force turnovers and get points in transition. This strategy powered the offense and kept the Terriers from ever getting anything going.
Curleybear and the rest of the starters only played the first half.
Taholah coach Karl Braden highlighted the performances of Celisha Ralston, who had six points and eight rebounds, and eighth-grader Ashley Hildalgo, who came off the bench to score 10 points.
“Our next game is going to be more difficult,” he said. “We played Naselle (and) they graduated a lot of seniors, but they’re good again this year.”
