The Aberdeen City Council will host a strategic planning workshop Wednesday at 6 p.m. at City Hall. Local residents are encouraged to attend and voice their opinions on whatever projects or agenda items they’d like to see the city undertake in 2018 and future years. Council members are not required to attend but are encouraged to.
“I just want to make sure we’re all on the same page and have the same goals in mind for the year,” said Council President Tawni Andrews, who proposed the workshop at the Jan. 10 council meeting.
Aberdeen Finance Director Mike Folkers said he looks forward to having citizens come out to provide good advice for future city policies and developments.
“I’m hoping some people can help us with looking further down the road than a year, but even guidance for next year would be awesome,” he said.
The workshop will be replacing the normal City Council meeting, and will be taking place in the third floor conference room of Aberdeen City Hall.
