Three questions for the candidates

Anna Stone

Occupation: Staffing consultant/recruiter with Express Employment Professionals

Public involvement: Member of the Central Park Elementary PTO for the last nine years, serving as vice president and president.

1. There’s been a lot of discussion about whether high schools over emphasize preparation for university at the expense of trades or other career paths. What are your views on how the district should prepare students?

I think that the district can best prepare student by providing the students with their options and by giving them the information that they need to make themselves successful. In my opinion, college is not for everyone, in this day and age one can be just as successful with a trade or alternate career path as you can attending a university. I think that as long as students are graduating with plans and goals that it is up to them to decide their path.
