Cosmopolis firefighters spent two hours Saturday night knocking down a motorhome fire on Blue Slough Road, according to Fire Chief Cody Bridges.
Firefighters were dispatched at 8:36 p.m. and found a fully involved motorhome around mile marker two partially off the road in the northbound lane.
“Crews initiated a defensive attack and made a full extinguishment of the vehicle,” said Bridges. “The driver was Cosmopolis bound when a fire broke out in the engine compartment, forcing him to exit the vehicle. The motorhome then rolled downhill where it settled partially in the Northbound ditch and became fully involved with fire.”
A total of eight personnel responded on two engines and one rescue apparatus, along with the Fire Chief and Assistant Chief. Grays Harbor County Sheriff’s deputies assisted with closing the roadway. There were no injuries sustained to civilians or firefighters.
