At approximately 3:05 a.m. on Feb. 3, Aberdeen police officers received a stolen license plate hit from the Flock Safety Camera System. The vehicle was immediately located and a traffic stop was initiated at East First Street and H Street.
A male passenger immediately exited the vehicle and took off running. The APD sergeant who initiated the stop recognized the suspect and initiated a foot pursuit. The suspect was caught several blocks away.
The suspect was wanted on an outstanding Department of Corrections warrant for robbery. He was also charged for obstructing a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.
Since having the Flock Safety Camera system installed in Aberdeen, it has helped with the recovery of stolen vehicles and locating missing and endangered persons.
