The Commanders — the jazz unit of the U.S. Air Force Band of the Golden West — are coming to the historic 7th Street Theatre. The Daily World is sponsoring the event to thank its subscribers and the community as a whole.

As the host sponsor, the newspaper is renting the 7th Street Theater and providing lunch for the band members and stage hands before the concert. Event tickets were made available to subscribers before the general public.

The Daily World and our employees are very appreciative of the community we work and live in, especially the loyal subscribers to our newspapers and websites,” said Publisher Stan Woody. “Our promise to the people of Grays Harbor has been to ‘Expect More from the World.’ This is our way of continuing to deliver on that.”

The Band of the Golden West is based at Travis Air Force Base in Northern California. Its 45 musicians — all active-duty Air Force members — play more than 250 concerts each year in seven Western states and overseas. The jazz ensemble comprises about 20 of the larger band’s members.

The performance will begin at 2 p.m. at the 7th Street Theatre, 313 Seventh St. in Hoquiam.

Seating is limited, and only a few complimentary tickets remain. Visit The Daily World’s office at 315 S. Michigan St. in Aberdeen during business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays). The limit is four per household.
