Castle Rock 52, Elma 14
The Elma Eagles fell behind by four scores in the first quarter and never recovered in a 52-14 loss at the hands of the Castle Rock Rockets on Friday in Castle Rock.
Elma (2-2 overall) committed five turnovers — four of them fumbles — which led to 24 points for the Rockets.
Elma fell behind on the first play of the game as Castle Rock’s Wyatt Partridge returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown.
Castle Rock (3-1) extended its lead when Partridge scored on a 4-yard run a few minutes later and recovered an Elma fumble on the Eagles’ next possession, which the Rockets turned into a 21-0 lead when Chance Naugle hit Parker Watts for a 25-yard touchdown soon after the turnover.
Elma then threatened to score, driving to the Castle Rock 7-yard line. But another Elma fumble was recovered by the Rockets. Partridge then burst through the Elma defense for a 93-yard touchdown run and a 28-0 lead.
On the ensuing kickoff, Elma’s Tysen Richardson scored to get the Eagles on the board with a 77-yard touchdown return with less than a minute to go in the first quarter.

Hoquiam 56, Columbia-White Salmon 10
Cameron Bumstead caught 12 passes, five for touchdowns, as the Hoquiam Grizzlies downed Columbia-White Salmon 56-10 on Friday in Hoquiam.
On the Grizzlies’ homecoming night, Bumstead and the Hoquiam offense shined.
Hoquiam (3-1) was locked in a close contest early on, taking a 7-0 lead on a Ben Estes 10-yard touchdown run with eight minutes to go in the first quarter.
The Grizzlies stepped on the gas pedal after that. Bumstead scored on touchdown passes from Matt Brown (16 yards) and quarterback Dane McMillan (60 yards) in the second quarter.
McMillan then hit Cayden Kempf on an 18-yard TD with 6:57 left in the second quarter, giving Hoquiam a 28-0 lead.
Leading 28-3 at the half, McMillan and Bumstead hooked up twice more for Hoquiam touchdowns, scoring on a 22-yard TD connection at the 6:27 mark of the third quarter and on a 30-yard pitch-and-catch at the 4:37 mark of the frame.
“Those two, they have a really good chemistry,” Hoquiam head coach Jeremy McMillan said of his quarterback-receiver combo. “Cameron did a great job of finding the open holes.”
Bumstead finished with 14 catches for 278 yards and five touchdowns, scoring his final TD of the evening on a 70-yard pass from Kempf with 3:02 left in the game.
Dane McMillan finished 19-for-22 for 288 yards and four touchdowns. He also led the Grizzlies in rushing, carrying the ball six times for 58 yards.
Estes ran the ball five times for 27 yards and two TDs, including an 8-yard score with 1:45 left in the third quarter.
Hoquiam kicker Trey Brydon was a perfect 8-for-8 in point-after attempts.
After facing a Bruins team that put eight defensive players at the line of scrimmage in an attempt to stop the Grizzlies rushing attack, Coach McMillan was pleased with his offense’s ability to adapt to what the CWS defense was showing it.
“I think the offensive line did a great job upfront keeping our quarterback clean and giving him time to find receivers,” he said. “The kids did a good job with our run-pass option system. It was nice to see.”
Hoquiam opens its league schedule against Tenino at 7 p.m. on Friday at Beaver Stadium in Tenino.

Raymond 48, Chief Leschi 6
Raymond’s running back tandem of McCartney Maden and Joseph Villalpando combined to rush for over 240 yards and seven touchdowns as the Seagulls earned their first victory of the season with a 48-6 thrashing over Chief Leschi on Friday at Raymond High School.
Maden scored three consecutive TDs to open the game. The senior scored on first-quarter runs of 25 and 10 yards before taking back a 53-yard punt return to give the Seagulls (1-3, 1-1 Pacific 2B) a commanding 21-0 lead with just 3:13 left in the first quarter.
Villalpando then made his presence felt, scoring on a run from 5-yards out with under a minute let in the first quarter then from 41 and 29 yards in the second frame
After Chief Leschi (1-3, 0-2) scored on a 36-yard TD reception from CJ Durr-Schaffer, Maden scored on a 50-yard run as time expired to give the Seagulls a 48-6 halftime lead, and eventually the victory.
“I thought we finally put together four quarters of football,” Raymond head coach Luke Abbott said. “Offensively, we moved the ball well. McCartney and Joseph did a good job finding holes and our line did a great job creating them. Defensively, we rallied to the ball well and tackled as a team. It was great to get everybody some playing time and we are excited about next week.”
Villalpando ran the ball 10 times for 128 yards while Maden had eight carries for 114 yards.
Raymond takes on Kings High School at 7 p.m. on Friday in Shoreline.

Onalaska 42, Pe Ell- Willapa Valley 6
Pe Ell-Willapa Valley was worn down by Onalaska’s size up front and couldn’t keep up with Loggers ball carriers in the Titans’ 42-6 loss in Menlo on Friday.
The night got off to a promising start for the Titans (2-2, 1-0 Pacific 2B Coastal) as they recovered a fumble and took advantage of good field position with 16-yard touchdown pass from Logan Walker to Sam Western for an early 6-0 lead.
Onalaska (4-0 overall) tied the game just before the end of the first quarter when Cade Lawrence broke off a 14-yard touchdown run.
The Loggers exploded for 28 points in the second quarter as they got four unanswered scores from Ashton Haight and Lucas Kreger.
Titans assistant coach John Peterson said Kreger’s 59-yard touchdown run with 4:07 left in the second quarter created a deficit too large to overcome.
“It got away from us with about five minutes to go in the second. Kreger on his 59-yard run, we had him pinned,” he said. “They’re the real thing. Kreger is a great option quarterback. They just maul you at the line of scrimmage and it just drains you.”
PWV’s Andrew Mitton was a force on defense in the loss with three forced fumbles.
The Titans will get back to league play with a 7 p.m. game at Chief Leschi on Friday.
Onalaska 6 22 6 6 – 42
PWV 6 0 0 0 – 6
